Every year since 2001 I have descended to Cape Town to escape the cold winters of the UK and each time I have plenty going on, photoshoots, filming and now with the King of the Air competition it gives the trip even more purpose.
For 2018 it would be no different.
Throughout the year I plan to film in multiple locations around the world to create a feature length movie, it will involve 3 of my favourite disciplines freestyle, big air and park in my favourite places to do them.
First up was Big Air and where better than Cape Town, I have never been anywhere that I could jump so high!
I wanted to make the images a bit different, finding different angles and involving friends, we took many trips out to Cape Point where the sand is white and the water is clear trying to find the perfect day.
It was hard to find, uncharacteristically the wind was not as nuclear as usual but in the end we scored, the project is about capturing the sport and the discipline as much as the tricks I land.
In the end we got some magical sessions and amazing shots. Everything we needed to kick the project off right.
You can follow the movies progress along the way with my new web series Aaron Airs, a platform created to accompany the project.
