This weekend was the German Champion Ships at Fehmarn. I came as the defending champion. The competition started on Saturday. The sun was shining and there were a lot of people at the beach watching the races. We started with the beach race. In the final I was leading nearly the whole way. Sadly I couldn’t found my paddle speed again at the final beach run. So my rival got the inside at the last buoy. I ended second and lost my German title from last year. I was really disappointed about losing my title on the last meters. But at the evening I enjoyed the beach party with all my buddies. On Sunday we did something very special. We started the first downwind race in Germany ever. After the start I paddled at the 3rd position for a while, but at the end I finished 4th after missing a few runners. I ended the weekend spending some time with my girlfriend and a great relaxing beach walk.
